The Ghana Education Service (GES) has announced the commencement of the school selection for 2024 BECE candidates, which will run until September 4, 2024. Parents and guardians are encouraged to actively engage in the process to ensure a smooth placement for candidates this year.
According to a statement by Prince C. Agyemang-Duah, Acting Director of the Schools and Instruction Division of GES, applicants will be able to confirm their chosen schools via a shortcode before the final placement. Details regarding the shortcode will be released in due course.
The school selection for 2024 BECE candidates is being conducted for the 570,461 Junior High School students who sat for the BECE between July 8 and 15 across the country. It allows candidates to select Senior High Schools or Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) institutions for placement.
To ensure the process runs smoothly, Regional Directors of Education have been instructed to notify all relevant parties, including Examination Officers and Metropolitan, Municipal, and District Directors of Education. Additionally, representatives from GES headquarters will oversee the process to ensure compliance with all regulations and streamline the school selection for 2024 BECE candidates.
