Pentecost University has showcased its exceptional prowess in Robotics, Automation, Artificial Intelligence, and Industry 4.0 by winning the Ghana Robotics Competition (GRC) 2024 Engineers League.
The university beat fierce competition from some of Ghana’s leading universities, including Ashesi University, Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST), University of Cape Coast (UCC), Academic City University, and University of Energy and Natural Resources (UENR) to emerge champions.
The Pentecost University team got double, as it emerged as the overall champions of the GRC Engineers League (tertiary category) and also picked up the award for Best Designed Extension.
Armed Forces Senior High Technical School and STEMER TECHS LAB Cyber Squad won the senior high category of the Ghana Robotics Competition 2024, while Ashaiman School for the Deaf won the Basic level category.
Teams exhibited their robotic inventions, each with distinct characteristics and powers, at the event, which served as a showcase for technical prowess, inventiveness, and originality. The kids’ commitment to robotics and inventiveness is evident in the months it took to develop and construct the robots.
Organizers of the Ghana Robotics Competition 2024, Firefly 10, expressed pleasure with the result, pointing out that it had succeeded in advancing STEM education and creativity.
The occasion served as a demonstration of the value of teamwork and the social effects of technology. The teams left with a strong sense of pride in their work and a determination to keep pushing the envelope of what is possible.
