Pentecost University secures KFW/IFE Grant to construct "Engineering Village" in Ghana

Pentecost University has won a highly competitive international scientific, innovative and economic development grant from KFW/IFE to construct an ultramodern engineering and technological hub dubbed, PENTECOST ENGINEERING VILLAGE (E-Village). The E-village is expected to be a hub for developing and advancing technology in Ghana and Africa. This is expected to create over 1500 new and sustainable jobs and train 3000 youth for short-term and medium-term qualifications in the first three years of operation.

The objective of the Engineering Village

The objective of the tech village is to create youth employment and provide Ghana with relevant skills to be globally competitive. Its emphasis is on Industry 4.0/5.0, SDG12 and key national policies and initiatives to reduce unemployment and poverty in Ghana.

The E-Village will provide key knowledge and skills in the design, construction, operation and maintenance of smart factories, digital health systems, electric vehicles, 3D printers, robots and automatic devices, CAD/CAM/CIM, digital fashion and more.

In signing the financial agreement, the Finance Director of Pentecost University, Dr. Abraham Nyebar described the grant as monumental and a blessing to industries in Ghana and beyond.

In receiving the grant, the Vice Chancellor (VC) of Pentecost University (PU), Prof. Kwabena Agyapong-Kodua, thanked God and indicated that a new dawn of developing and advancing tech in Ghana has come through PU. The VC commended KFW/IFE highly and thanked the Pentecost University team, The Church of Pentecost and all the partners.

“The Pentecost Engineering Village will become one of the backbones for the industrialisation of Ghana and Africa. It will house AI technologies, CAD/CAM/CIM, Digital Health, Robots and Automatic systems, Electric Vehicle systems, Digital Fashion, etc. It will create 1000s of jobs for young people,” Prof. Kwabena Agyapong-Kodua emphasized on Facebook.

The Pentecost Engineering Village is a two-year project and shall include the construction and installation of advanced machinery to aid Ghana and Africa’s industrialization and economic growth.
