We have been using the MTN loyalty package for years. However, and have decided to share with you how to get free loyalty rewards of airtime and internet data from MTN because you may be oblivious to how you can get free airtime and data packages from MTN, just as were until finding out.
MTN Ghana rolled out this special loyalty package a few years ago. It allows customers to gain points as they continue to buy and use airtime. It does not matter what you use the airtime; you will gain points as you use it. Therefore, as you buy airtime for calls, surf the internet, sending SMSs, among others, you accumulate points.
Some people in my circle frequently ask what they would use those accumulated points for; more airtime or mobile money. The answer is simple. MTN loyalty rewards give you more airtime or internet data.
This is how it works
As you accumulate the points, MTN allows you to redeem your points. In doing this, you can choose between using it for calls or browsing the internet. Moreover, your ability to redeem your points solely depends on the number of points you have earned for yourself. This special package is called MTN Y’ello D’lite.
MTN Y’ello D’lite
Y’ello D’lite is an MTN loyalty reward package that rewards some customers with points for using their airtime. You were missing out on this, right? I know you must now be wondering how you can get also enjoy this special package. It is simple; just dial *482# to check your status. This service is not currently available to all customers of MTN.
According to our research, it is currently available to an estimated percentage of about 20% of the entire MTN Ghana subscriber base. So though you may be part of those selected lucky customers, others may not be just as lucky.
The criteria and selected customers
The criteria for selection are still unclear; selected customers are notified via SMS. You may have missed seeing the SMS, so to check your status, use the shortcode to find out. Once selected, you will automatically have access to the package, but if unlucky, the feedback would be:
“Sorry, you cannot access the service. Thank you.”
Largely, I admit this is a laudable rewards package from Ghana’s largest telecommunication network, MTN. However, we would recommend increasing the number of subscribers captured under the scheme to enable more people to enjoy it. Better still, MTN Ghana should consider declaring a limit for qualification so that other customers may know how to get onto the platform.
And if you happen to be part of the lucky few, it may interest you to know this too. As I mentioned earlier, redeeming your points is solely dependent on your number of points.
