The Voters Exhibition Exercise has begun. Registered voters are entreated to go to the polling stations where they registered to ascertain the capture of their correct details as provided during the registration period.
For people who may not be able to go to their polling stations to check within the given period due to any hindrances, the EC has made provision for them by providing a USSD code that they can use to check their details on their phones.
Those who are unable to visit their polling stations can dial the USSD code *711*51# to check their registration details on their phones. You are expected to enter your Voters ID card number to check your details. It is to be noted that if you desire to check your registration details electronically by using the USSD code, there is a 50 pesewas charge, so ensure you have that amount in your momo wallet before you proceed to check.
The 2024 Voters Exhibition Exercise began on August 20, 2024, and is expected to end on August 27, 2024. If you find out that your details have not been correctly captured, you need to visit your polling centre to get it sorted out.
According to Deputy Chairman of the EC in charge of Corporate Services, Dr Bossman Asare, the Voters Exhibition Exercise is to help voters locate their polling stations so that on the day of voting, it would be easier for individuals to go to their centre to cast their ballot thereby making the process stress-free.
“The commission is again entreating all registered voters especially those who registered in the 2024 limited registration exercise at the district offices of the commission and selected electoral areas as well as during the mop-up exercise, to visit the exhibition centres to ascertain whether they were assigned to the correct polling stations or not,” he said.
If you can, visit your polling station to check your details so that you don’t get disenfranchised. You can, otherwise, use the USSD code provided by the EC, and when you find any irregularities, find a way to go to your polling station to have them corrected. The 2024 Ghanaian Parliamentary and Presidential elections will be held on December 7, 2024.
