MTN launches eHealth service, Mcare in collaboration with MedPharma and Phoenix Health Insurance

MTN Ghana, in collaboration with MedPharma and Phoenix Health Insurance, has introduced an eHealth service known as Mcare to provide convenient access to e-consultation services, medicines administration and delivery, and health insurance to its registered subscribers.

The Mcare service has two subscription packages: the Silver subscription which is GH¢10 per month, provides access to e-consultation and discounted medication and the Gold subscription which is GH¢166.66 per month, offers additional health insurance coverage.

Mcare through the Ayoba App, MTN app, Medpharma app, or the Medpharma chatbot. However, medication delivery services can only be accessed by placing an order on the Mcare app.

In terms of the waiting period for clients to have their information processed, Gold customers have their unique health insurance benefits. However, both Gold and Silver customers can immediately benefit from e-consultation services discounted medication, medication delivery and also health content.

To schedule a teleconsultation appointment, clients need to navigate to the Mcare app and use the appointment scheduling feature on the homepage.

In some cases, clients may need a physical examination. In that case, the organization’s healthcare experts will offer detailed guidance on the recommended steps, which may involve arranging an appointment with a physical healthcare provider. Moreover, Gold customers can benefit from their health insurance coverage, ensuring smooth access to the necessary consultations and tests.

The innovative eHealth service can be accessed by anybody interested even if they are not using MTN. The challenge, however, is that one needs to make payment for either the Silver or Gold package through MTN Momo.
