MTN Ghana’s Chief Digital Officer, Dario Bianchi, has announced that he will leave his role after serving in that capacity for more than five years.
As General Manager for Digital and Innovations, Dario Bianchi has overseen significant achievements within MTN Ghana, including launching myMTN, generating the first revenue for Chenosis, hosting the first Ayoba hackathon, the first broadband e-shop, and much more.
Before joining MTN Ghana, Bianchi held various roles in the telecommunications and technology sectors, with experience in different markets across Africa and beyond.
In a LinkedIn post announcing his departure from MTN Ghana, Dario Bianchi wrote: “After more than five and a half incredible years, it’s time to say goodbye to MTN and to Ghana. I’ll be taking a couple of weeks off before embarking on a new adventure in September.”
Bianchi credited his team for the achievements he chalked as Chief Digital Officer, saying those achievements would not have been possible but for the support of the team he had, which has grown significantly during his time.
“None of these achievements would have been possible without my fantastic team. We started as just three and have grown to nearly 30. They have been exceptional, handling all my (often unreasonable) requests with grace. Thank you all,” Dario Bianchi wrote.
Dario Bianchi thanked current MTN Ghana CEO, Stephen Blewett and his former boss, Selorm Adadevoh for their support. According to him, it was the latter’s “fault” that all of the above (Dario Bianchi’s achievements) actually happened.”
It is not too clear where Dario Bianchi is headed next, but he did say that he will be embarking on a new adventure in September after taking some time off.
